Our family used to run a general market in the old days, but in 1976, we split our business and started a Yakitonya. In the beginning, we received many customer requests, such as, “don’t you have this?” Or, “can’t you make that?” And, our menu has been growing ever since. Nowadays, in addition to Yakiton, there we serve a wide variety of items such as ginkgo, potato fries, deep-fried octopus, and other unique items. We have our menu on the wall, but I’ve lost count of what we have.

At this location, just a one-minute walk from Soshigaya-Okura Station, offers a wide range of Chinese dishes, including noodles, tanmen (stir-fried meat with vegetables) and ramen in set meals or a la carte. This is a Chinese restaurant featuring an izakaya style, with draft beer available at 290 yen. You can have your beer with appetizers for under 1000 yen.

Featuring quality bluefin tuna
Here is a restaurant bar where you can eat authentic nigiri sushi. We use low-cost materials that have the same freshness as high-end stores. We are particular about our tuna, so we don’t use the bigeye tuna found in conveyor belt sushi chains, but the fresh, delicious bluefin. Since Magurobito is an old brand, we are able to purchase finer stock inexpensively from long-time brokers. Please enjoy.
Most dishes are made fresh at the restaurant
Although are prices are low, our company policy states “any pleasure our chefs receive from customer praise can’t be genuine unless the dish came from his or her own hands.” With no main kitchen, dishes must be prepared and seasoned by our staff. At the Soshigaya shop, items other than sushi are prepared by a chef with many years’ experience with Italian cuisine. Please give our non-sushi items a try as well.
There is seating in a large room in the back of house
From the entrance, it looks as though only counter and table seats available, but many are surprised that there is seating in a large dining room in back. Parties of for about 40 people can be accommodated. Family selections, such as French fries are also available, so groups with children are also welcome. We open at 4:00 p.m. with drinks at half price until 19:00.

Soba (buckwheat) flour is ordered from a specialty shop in Hokkaido, which has been in business for over 120 years and been associated with us for about 80 years. Flat noodles, a rarity in Tokyo, have always been loved by locals.

I am the third-generation owner of this restaurant that my grandfather opened in 1955. Over 80 percent of our customers are regulars, with some continuing their grandparents’ dining tradition. Until ten years ago, we had employed cooks from China, but now, our Japanese cook takes great care to craft each dish one at a time. Our menu is child-friendly.
Okadaya flavor has come down through the generations
Classic dumplings are made without using garlic. The former owner has since left the kitchen but comes in regularly to taste for consistency. The thick, delicious wrappings are specially ordered from the factory. Dumplings are 400 yen for a five-piece order.
