Yakitori Makabe

Yakitonya, founded for 43 years

Our family used to run a general market in the old days, but in 1976, we split our business and started a Yakitonya. In the beginning, we received many customer requests, such as, “don’t you have this?” Or, “can’t you make that?” And, our menu has been growing ever since. Nowadays, in addition to Yakiton, there we serve a wide variety of items such as ginkgo, potato fries, deep-fried octopus, and other unique items. We have our menu on the wall, but I’ve lost count of what we have.

We await you with smiles

A place where you can relax in Soshigaya

Oddly, we’ve had first time visitors come in and get nostalgic. “I feel like I’m at grandma’s place,” is something we hear often. It’s a shop where you can take a leisurely look at the menu on the wall, find what just want you want to order and give yourself a break.

Additional seating other than the counter is also available

The sauce recipe has been a secret, which has been guarded since our opening. Please, enjoy the rich flavor as it has been applied for 40 years

Eight selections of yakiton, including tongue, heart, liver, small intestine, cheek meat, cartilage, uterus and stomach are available. All are 170 yen

Kitchen Makabe / Since 1961

A family run shop, with the second and third generation owners in charge of cooking

A long-established Western-style restaurant with a 60-year history

We achieve mild and savory flavors using mostly handmade sauces. Popular “Pork Ginger” using pork loin, is made entirely from scratch for unmatched flavor.

The “Omukoro” with its old-fashioned goodness is also popular

Both “Omukoro” and “Pork Ginger” have had a lot of media exposure. A traditional “omelet rice” made with fried rice wrapped in a thin omelet is served with a chicken cream croquette. This fried delicacy is fried in purified lard from the Netherlands. The chicken cream croquette features dried shiitake mushrooms.

Omukoro (with soup) 1350 yen (plus tax). A delicious old-fashioned omelet with rice

The second floor features spacious table seating with homestyle service

The private room has a capacity for 10 to 18 people. Call us about banquets or parties
