Yakitonya, founded for 43 years

Our family used to run a general market in the old days, but in 1976, we split our business and started a Yakitonya. In the beginning, we received many customer requests, such as, “don’t you have this?” Or, “can’t you make that?” And, our menu has been growing ever since. Nowadays, in addition to Yakiton, there we serve a wide variety of items such as ginkgo, potato fries, deep-fried octopus, and other unique items. We have our menu on the wall, but I’ve lost count of what we have.

Oddly, we’ve had first time visitors come in and get nostalgic. “I feel like I’m at grandma’s place,” is something we hear often. It’s a shop where you can take a leisurely look at the menu on the wall, find what just want you want to order and give yourself a break.

The sauce recipe has been a secret, which has been guarded since our opening. Please, enjoy the rich flavor as it has been applied for 40 years

Yakiton (grilled skewered pork intestine) specialty restaurant, open since 1950 This yakiton restaurant has been around for 70 years. The second generation proprietor, I became independent about 30 years ago and took over the shop. My father, the first owner, did not train me much but often said during my apprenticeship at the restaurants, “steal cooking techniques with your own eyes, don’t rely on a master.” Now, I made Yakiton’s “Hiroha” in my own way.

I hone this kitchen knife every day. At first, it was more than 20cm, has been worn down over the years

Crowds come in before we open

Even before opening, customers come in without permission and the counter may be full even before we begin our day. At 17:30, I stand in front of the charcoal grill and orders come in one after the other. We may not politely ask, “what would you like?” but we do hear you. So, please do not hesitate to order.

I like shochu that I can control the alcohol content. Lately, I tire easily (laughs), so I sometimes close early. So, you may want to visit us in earlier than later.

Fresh pasta for the discerning customer

We use fresh pasta made entirely from the highest grade of durum flour. Aged for a day, it has a fresh and gooey texture that not found in dry pasta. We want you to try our Carbonara with special cream sauce. Split the egg yolk with your chopsticks, coat your noodles with it and enjoy the rich texture.

Ordering “Omakase (Chef’s choice)” at the counter is easy

We offer a “Counter Omakase Nigiri” (3700 yen) so that even those who do not know how authentic Edo-mae sushi is made or how to order can enjoy it — no problem. In addition, there is also a “Counter Omakase Course” (6800 yen), with assorted sashimi and grilled dishes. Recommended for those who want to enjoy a meal and conversation without worrying about orders.

Indian restaurant run by a chef from Kolkata

The owner is from Kolkata, India. After working as a cook in India for 14 years, he came to Japan, where he has worked over 15 years in Harajuku and Roppongi, perfecting the flavor of his Indian cuisine. The main branch opened in Kinuta, followed by the Soshigaya location in Soshigaya. Enjoy authentic, slow cooked Indian curry as well as other Indian dishes such as tandoori chicken.

Curry set at reasonable prices

The curry set consists of a choice of 10 popular curries. You can also order from large selection of à la carte items. Several set menus can be enjoyed at reasonable prices too, such as student sets, ladies’ sets, couples sets, and more.
